Acumen Financial Advantage Partners with National Small Credit Union Association

Acumen Financial Advantage (AFA) and the National Small Credit Union Association (NSCUA) today announced a new partnership that makes AFA the first executive benefits partner in NSCUA’s network, bringing deep credit union expertise and innovative solutions to small credit unions nationwide. The partnership is rooted in a shared mission: delivering smart, sustainable financial strategies that help credit unions retain top talent, fulfill their mission, and thrive through market uncertainty.

AFA will work alongside NSCUA to provide customized approaches across executive benefits strategies, including supplemental executive retirement plans (SERPs), Charitable Donation Accounts (CDAs), and employee benefits pre-funding (EBP). These strategies are designed to help NSCUA’s member institutions attract and retain top talent, while remaining true to their mission-driven, member-first values.

“Small credit unions don’t just need to survive in a volatile market, they need to thrive in it,” said Ryan Millman, Principal, Acumen Financial Advantage. “They face the same leadership continuity and executive retention challenges as their larger counterparts, but often without the internal resources to address them. We’ve spent our careers helping credit unions build sustainable strategies around their most important asset, their people. Partnering with NSCUA lets us bring that expertise directly to an audience that needs it most.”

“NSCUA was built to give small credit unions the resources, community, and expertise that are often reserved for larger institutions,” said Joshua Urbick, President and CEO, NSCUA. “Executive leadership and succession planning consistently rank among the top concerns we hear from our members. Partnering with Acumen Financial Advantage means our members now have direct access to proven, practical solutions from a firm that specializes exclusively in this space and takes a consultative, goals-first approach rather than a one-size-fits-all pitch.”

As part of the partnership, AFA and NSCUA will roll out a joint educational series in the coming months, including a webinar about new approaches to executive benefits featuring speakers from both organizations, along with a co-branded whitepaper and in-person presentations at select NSCUA regional meetings, including in the Pacific Northwest.
