ICR, a leading strategic communications and advisory firm, today announced that Josh Hochberg has joined the firm as President, Communications.
Hochberg brings nearly three decades of experience advising companies, boards of directors and financial sponsors on strategic communications, capital markets related communications and complex special situations. He will work across ICR’s platform to help clients navigate increasingly interconnected reputation and stakeholder challenges.
Prior to joining ICR, Hochberg spent almost a decade at Edelman Smithfield, where he most recently served as COO and Global Head of Special Situations and Investor Relations. Earlier in his career, he spent more than 13 years at Sloane & Company in various leadership roles.
At ICR, Hochberg will focus on further integrating the firm’s industry and sector teams, expanding the sharing of market intelligence and strategic insights, and enhancing the firm’s already strong culture of client service and execution excellence. He will also work closely across ICR’s broader platform, including ICR Capital, to help clients benefit from the firm’s differentiated combination of strategic communications, capital markets intelligence and transaction advisory expertise.
“ICR has evolved into a uniquely integrated advisory platform that combines strategic communications and capital markets expertise in ways that few firms can match,” said Anton Nicholas, Chief Executive Officer of ICR. “Our teams bring real-world experience from across the markets, media, investor and corporate landscape, which gives us a deep understanding of how critical stakeholders think, make decisions and create value. That perspective allows us to help clients communicate more effectively, navigate increasingly interconnected business and reputation issues, and position themselves to command a premium valuation. Josh has spent his career operating where the stakes are the highest, and he’s exactly the right leader for where we’re headed next.”
“ICR has been an innovator for nearly 30 years and helped reshape the industry by viewing client challenges through the lens of value creation,” said Hochberg. “What drew me here is the opportunity to build on that foundation. Alongside Anton and the senior team, I’m excited to help define the next chapter of the industry by combining strategic communications, market intelligence and deep capital market insights in a way that helps clients see around corners, anticipate change and navigate critical moments with greater clarity and confidence.”
